Department Chair of Anesthesiology
Welcome to the Geisinger Health System Department of Anesthesiology. Our department is a vibrant group of anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists providing over 100,000 anesthetics annually in our 9 hospitals and 4 ambulatory surgery centers across central and northeastern Pennsylvania. We are proud to be the flagship hospital in each of the counties we serve and a regional referral center for cardiac surgery, pediatrics, transplant and acute stroke among many other services.
Our educational mission centers on our thriving residency program, medical students from the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine and the two SRNA programs that we serve as a primary clinical campus. The Department prides itself for its continued passion for quality in patient care, as evidenced by our system Quality Team which focuses on ensuring that we are following the most current evidence and constantly raising the bar. At Geisinger, innovation is in our DNA and we are excited to adopt AI into our preoperative processes as well as surgical operations.
