Chief Administrative Officer, Acute and Diagnostic Services
Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as the senior administrative leader responsible for the strategic leadership of Geisinger’s Acute and Diagnostic Services. This role ensures that all goals and objectives of their assigned areas are fully aligned with Geisinger’s broader mission, vision, and organizational strategies. Serving as the top Acute and Diagnostic Services administrative executive, this position works in a dyad partnership with the Chief Medical Officer for Acute and Diagnostic Services to drive clinical excellence, operational effectiveness, and high-quality patient care across the enterprise. Scope of responsibility Includes: • Surgical Services • Diagnostic Services, including Laboratory and Radiology • Geisinger Placement Services • Ground EMS / LifeFlight
Job Duties
- Ensures patient-centric, high-quality, and cost-effective care in defined areas, including but not limited to the surgical suite, diagnostic services (Laboratory and Radiology), Geisinger Placement Services, and Ground EMS/LifeFlight.
- Provides strong leadership and direction in setting strategic and long-range objectives, with clearly defined goals for areas of responsibility including quality and patient safety (with a focus on zero harm), operational efficiency and effectiveness, patient experience, and staff engagement.
- Achieves system balanced scorecard objectives across all strategic priorities.
- Improves patient access across services and care settings.
- Maintains compliance with 5-star metrics and ensures programs and services meet all regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Participates in the selection, training, mentoring, and development of staff.
- Creates an environment that supports employee and physician satisfaction.
- Develops and grows strategic plans aligned with organizational goals.
- Achieves operating margin targets through effective operational oversight.
- Ensures efficient and cost-effective use of non-clinical resources to maintain a productive work environment.
- Develops accurate operational and capital budgets in alignment with organizational priorities.
- Partners and collaborates with other chief administrative officers and medical officers to achieve the highest quality of patient care, exceptional patient experience, efficient hospital throughput, and strong financial health.
- Regularly evaluates the effectiveness of programs and services and implements changes as necessary to promote strategic and operational effectiveness.
- Understands, supports, and participates in information technology development, marketing, and public relations initiatives.
- Maintains positive relationships across all levels of the organization, actively engages with the community, and collaborates with governing authorities
- Participates in system initiatives as requested.

Education
Master's Degree-Business Administration/Healthcare Management (Required)Experience
