Job Summary

The Director of Payment Transformation will lead a high-performing team to create new care delivery and payment model transformations across the Geisinger Enterprise. The Director of Payment Transformation will work on development and implementation of innovative payment and care delivery models including work in the Keystone Accountable Care Organization and Geisinger Accountable Care Organization, implementation of Transforming Episode Accountability Model (TEAM), and strategy and implementation of Direct Contracting.

Job Duties

  • In partnership the leadership team, develops a strategic plan for Innovation in Payment Model Innovation including the development and fostering of a “culture of innovation” throughout the system at all levels.
  • Identifies new market spaces for alternative payment models, including but not limited to CMS-funded payment models. 
  • Recommends innovative care delivery programs and assists in delivery of any new program.  Monitors progress of goals and impact of respective plans.
  • Builds a world-class innovation team under the Payment Transformation Pillar in the Steele Institute for Health Innovation.
  • Trains Geisinger personnel and manages a high-performing team to sustain continuous learning and improvement in quality, utilization, health outcomes, and patient experience
  • Develops and applies measures of innovation (from ideation through pilot and scale) to enforce a cycle of continuous learning and improvement within the innovation team
  • Demonstrates financial acumen and ability to manage an administrative budget for oversight of Geisinger's participation in alternative payment models
  • Leads the implementation of the payment model innovation programs and collaborates across clinical and administrative leaders within Geisinger and partnering entities.
  • Develops a thorough understanding and effectively communicates the purpose of the care delivery programs and payment transformations.
  • Supports the Keystone ACO, Geisinger ACO, and TEAM programming and direct contracting strategy. Works in collaboration across the enterprise to develop innovative care delivery models across settings to improve quality and reduce costs.
  • Oversees and/or participates in various governance committees, meetings, and forums as assigned.
  • Supports and promotes the Geisinger Health System’s approach to education and innovation.
  • Maintains confidentiality of health information.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of an evolving regulatory landscape impacting alternative payment models and stays abreast of industry trends.

Education

Bachelor's Degree-Related Field of Study (Required), Master's Degree-Related Field of Study (Preferred)

Experience

Minimum of 5 years-Related work experience (Required), Minimum of 5 years-Managerial/Supervisory (Required)
