MyCode Laboratory Technician
Job Summary
Performs various procedures with multiple patient specimen sources such that the accurate personal health information and chain of custody is preserved. Performs duties to process patient samples, extract and analyze nucleic acids, and proper placement of samples in biorepository storage facilities following regulations and guidelines. Assists with duties of patient sample retrieval and preparation for multiple purposes including shipments to collaborators to allow return of results to patients and for various research projects.
Job Duties
- Manages multiple work processes efficiently.
- Completes tasks in a timely manner.
- Handles patient specimens properly.
- Confirms identification and specimen suitability.
- Uses appropriate accessioning procedures and recognizes any discrepancies on orders.
- Operates all instrumentation involved with patient sample retrieval from system.
- Operates all instrumentation involved with sample processing and handling in the laboratoryReplenishes reagents and supplies according to established protocols.
- Performs and records daily laboratory and instrument cleaning logs.
- Navigates and accesses multiple computer applications as needed for job functionality.
- Assists in the training and orientation of new employees.
- cleanliness of all work areas and is responsible for all safety aspects of the laboratory.

Bachelor's Degree-Healthcare Related Degree (Required)Experience
