Assists clinical staff with patient care and preparation for surgical procedures.
- Serves as a resource and extension of the surgical care team.
- Monitors and assesses operating room conditions, including patient and surgical team needs.
- Assists patients with personal care needs and participates in the plan of care.
- Assists with moving and positioning the patient as directed.
- Always ensures patient’s safety.
- Plans, prioritizes, organizes and performs requests for surgical assistance related to equipment holding as requested by the assigned care team.
- Prepares, cares for and disposes of tissue specimens taken for laboratory analysis.
- Documents patient care activities consistent with data collection and the test performed.
- Verifies patient identification.
- Participates in required patient safety education programs: Assumes responsibility for identifying processes or systems that could potentially lead to errors and adverse events.
- Knows and follows organizational and departmental policies and procedures applicable to assigned duties.
- Promptly reports serious events and incidents in accordance with established hospital policy and procedure.
- Assists with the care, preparation and stocking of supplies such as arranging sterile set up, adjusting lights, cleaning operating room, and skin preparation prior to surgery under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.

Position Details
Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm.
No experience needed. Comprehensive on the job training provided.
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)- (Required)Certification(s) and License(s)
