Senior Director Information Technology - IT Project Management Office
Job Summary
Participates as a core member of the Information Services (IT) leadership team representing the IT Project Management Office. This is a is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the governance, execution, and delivery of IT projects and programs across the organization. This position ensures alignment with business objectives, drives operational excellence, and fosters a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the IT project management function.
Job Duties
- Provides consistent and appropriate administrative leadership for all areas of responsibility.
- Responsible for managing relations with, and delivering solutions to, internal and external customers of Geisinger IT systems and services.
- Provides proactive leadership for review and implement new application that help support and further the Geisinger mission.
- Oversees and coordinates activities with all IT areas.
- Define and implement the PMO vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with enterprise goals.
- Establish and enforce project management standards, methodologies, and best practices in accordance with PMI guidelines.
- Oversee the planning, prioritization, and execution of IT projects and programs, ensuring alignment with strategic initiatives.
- Track project performance, risks, and outcomes; report progress to executive leadership and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of project managers and PMO staff.
- Collaborate with business leaders, IT teams, and external partners to ensure successful project delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Drive process improvements, post-project reviews, and lessons learned to enhance future project outcomes.
- Works with managers in the various units to administer personnel policies (e.g., hire, evaluate, discipline and discharge, review employee orientation and training), oversee work unit budgets, assess work unit needs, develop goals and objectives for the work unit, evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of operations, develop operational methods and systems to support the goals and objectives of the combined enterprise.
- Establish and monitor operational KPIs, including productivity standards.
- Oversees IT relationships with business, including contracting, strategy development, problem resolution and support.
- Acts as the primary point of contact for all areas of responsibility.
- Interacts with senior leaders and executives, both internal and external to Geisinger.
- Provides administrative support to IT areas involved in delivering services and is responsible for the development and expansion of the information technology.
- Develops long- and short-range plans for delivering products and services that meet real business needs.
- Coordinates plans within and outside the department.
- As a core member of the Information Services leadership team, participates in establishing and integrating strategic plans for delivery of IT services to all customers, including patients.
- Explores new technologies and services to bring creative solutions to support business requirements, and venture partnerships.
- Works with user departments to insure all legal and regulatory requirements are followed.
- Coordinates with all areas of Information Services and other areas within the enterprise as appropriate, uses emerging information technologies to provide effective and innovative products and services.
- Works closely with all areas of Information Services to coordinate support related to delivering IT services.

In lieu of degree, must be actively enrolled in bachelor’s program, with degree obtained within five years.
